Dr. Patel earned his Bachelor of Dental Surgery (BDS) from Bristol University Dental School, Bristol England in 1990. After graduating, he left England and moved to the United States. He then enrolled in the New York University College of Dentistry and earned a degree in Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS).
Dr. Patel completed his General Dental Residency training at Mt. Sinai Hospital, New York, New York. He received his Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery Residency training from Albert Einstein School of Medicine at Montefiore Medical Center in the Bronx, New York. Throughout the course of his training, he consistently scored in the top 10 percentile in the country.
In 2000, recognizing the importance of being board certified, Dr. Patel immediately sat for and passed the certification exams on his first attempt. He continues to maintain his certification and was re-certified in 2010.
Dr. Patel was in private practice for 9 years in Albany, NY. He was on staff at the VA Hospital and was also the Dental Implant Director at the Dental Residency Program at St. Peter’s Hospital. While in New York, he received the “America’s Top Dentist” award from the Consumers Research Council of America. He also served as president of the Troy Dental Study Club.
Dr Patel currently runs a full-scope oral surgery practice, with emphasis in Dental Implant Surgery and Wisdom Teeth removal under IV sedation (anesthesia). He has offices in Merced and Turlock and is currently on staff at Mercy Medical Center. In order to keep up to date with advancing technologies, he attends multiple continuing education courses. He continues to give surgical lectures at study clubs and dental societies. His professional credentials include:

Dr. Patel and his wife, Sapna, spend their free time on the tennis courts with their two daughters, Niki and Rhea.
